Diplomats faced problems obtaining QR codes in Russia: Politics: Russia: Lenta.ru
Foreign diplomas in Russia vaccinated with coronavirus vaccines not registered in the country could not receive QR codes. About it writes RBC.
Three sources in foreign diplomatic missions told the publication that the embassies sent a collective letter to Smolensk Square in the summer asking for assistance in issuing QR codes to diplomats who received vaccines. However, due to the imminent cancellation of the codes, the issue lost its relevance and remained unresolved.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reported similar problems. From July 1, in all EU countries, as well as in Iceland, Norway and Switzerland, COVID-19 digital certificates in QR code format began to work. But the hardest part is for the employees of diplomatic missions in France, where sanitary passports were previously introduced. Due to the lack of an approved vaccine, Russians have to be tested for coronavirus all the time. Russian Ambassador to Paris Aleksey Meshkov even accused France of discrimination for not recognizing diplomatic workers vaccinated by Sputnik V as vaccinated. “Those vaccinated with Sputnik V are considered unvaccinated. What is this if not a discriminatory approach? “- the ambassador complained.
At the same time, there are no such problems in the United States, since the Russian diplomatic corps was vaccinated with drugs, and Ambassador Anatoly Antonov spoke about the Moderna vaccination received in winter.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that Russia seeks to ensure non-discriminatory access to vaccines against COVID-19 and mutual recognition of drugs. According to him, without this step, the unhindered movement of citizens of different states is practically impossible. The President noted that the Russian drug for coronavirus Sputnik V has been approved in 70 countries around the world.
On October 25, the Ministry of Health of Russia approved the form of a vaccination certificate against coronavirus and previous illness. The approved form of the certificate will come into force on November 8. The issued certificates will be automatically reissued on the portal until March 1, 2022. The new certificate provides a place for a QR code. In addition, the document indicates the date of vaccination and the place where the vaccination was given. The certificate will be available for vaccinated in two languages: English and English. It can also be obtained in paper form.
