The story goes back several months: it is indeed on the evening of the Top 14 final that the facts unfold, in Toulouse.
This June 25, 2021, the people of Toulouse in jubilation celebrate their new title of Champions of France. And as with every victory, the St. Peter’s Square is the epicenter of the party, with hundreds of young people gathered.
10 days of ITT for the victim
Around 11 p.m., shortly after the final whistle, a 20-year-old, accompanied by two friends, grabs a jacket. Problem: the garment does not belong to him. The legitimate owner then signals his mistake (involuntary?).
A remark that does not please at all to the one who is borrowed from the jacket. After tense verbal exchanges, he kicks his interlocutor, especially in the face, to the point of leaving him unconscious on the ground. From violence which led the forensic doctor to prescribe the victim 10 days of ITT.
Summoned to the police station
The next day, the victim will file a complaint for theft and violence at the police station. The police then investigate and successfully identify the suspected thief and go the two young men who accompanied that evening.
They were all summoned to the police station on October 27, 2021 and placed in police custody. The two people accompanying the alleged thief were quickly exonerated. The alleged assailant, for his part, explained that he had acted in good faith, and that the jacket belonged to him.
An argument that he will have to defend in court: left free he was summoned to court by April 19, 2022.
