This year’s information day for ambassadors accredited in Liechtenstein focuses on the government’s goals for the legislative period 2021-2025. Government councilor Dominique Hasler as host, Prime Minister Daniel Risch and Deputy Prime Minister Sabine Monauni showed how Liechtenstein should be sustainably developed. Over 70 nations, with which Liechtenstein maintains bilateral relations, were guests in Liechtenstein. The lively participation in the information day illustrated the high level of interest in Liechtenstein and its policy-making.
“The ambassadorial information day serves to bring the foreign ambassadors closer to the country of Liechtenstein, Councilor Dominique Hasler.
In her reaffirmed Government Councilor Hasler highlighted Liechtenstein’s strong foreign policy profile and emphasized that Liechtenstein would continue to actively support democracy, the rule of law and human rights as the basis of a free society. She also went into the solidarity commitment of the country, which has a long tradition. In addition, she illustrated the opportunities of a future-oriented education system and explained how the digitization strategy in schools facilitates this. In a personal interview with the former Liechtenstein youth delegate, the government councilor described her motivation to stand up for the country of Liechtenstein.
In his speech, Prime Minister Risch recalled the principles of the Liechtenstein constitution, which came into force a hundred years ago, and which have lost none of their relevance and importance to this day. He stressed the importance of working together to advance society and its welfare – in line with Article 14 of the Constitution. The future of Liechtenstein can only be successfully shaped together through reliable and sustainable action.
In her speech, Deputy Prime Minister Monauni addressed the economic situation in Liechtenstein in particular. She highlighted that the economy had proven resilient during the pandemic and that the labor market was pleased despite the challenges. It is the government’s job to create good framework conditions for companies, including through low bureaucratic hurdles. SIE further emphasized that the Liechtenstein model of success is also based on deep European integration.
Central aspects of the speeches of the three members of the government were further explored in a panel. At the same time, the ambassadors were given the opportunity to ask government members questions about their goals and their work.
