Auto Zürich opens its doors
In contrast to the Geneva Motor Show, the Zurich Motor Show can take place in 2021. The organizers want to position the 34th Auto Zurich Car Show as a platform for the topic of electromobility, but also show oldies.
Because of the corona virus, the traditional Geneva Motor Show or the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS), as it has recently been called, did not take place in 2020 and 2021. And Switzerland’s largest trade fair will not take place in 2022 either. Which means that in 2021 the 34th Auto Zürich Car Show will be the largest exhibition of its art in Switzerland and will attract numerous visitors.
From November 4th to 7th, instead of in the spring as originally planned, after a year of corona pause, those interested can get an overview of around 80 announced new products from a total of 43 brands in Halls 1 to 4 of the exhibition in Zurich-Oerlikon. Due to the six-month postponement, the organizers had time to plan the exhibition with Corona measures (admission only with a valid 3G certificate). According to the organizer Karl Bieri, the visitor guidance and the quality of stay have also been improved.
Focus on electromobility
You can see above all one size of series, but also of special models. Nowhere else in Switzerland are there more vehicles on display under one roof. As at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Munich in September, fully or partially electrified vehicles will also be prominently represented at Auto Zürich.
Every manufacturer now has such cars on offer, with the focus on purely electric vehicles. Also on board are the manufacturers Microlino (CH development) and Tesla, who are fully committed to electromobility.
Following this trend, a premiere awaits visitors at this year’s Auto Zürich with the “ev experience”: the charging infrastructure. A total of 16 vehicles are available that can be reserved for an accompanied journey. The topic of electromobility is to become an integral part of the auto show.
Also for classic car friends
The Auto Zürich Classic is part of the program for the second time. When it was first held two years ago, the concept met with a great response, which prompted the organizers to stick with the trade fair for classic automobiles. Classic car enthusiasts will get their money’s worth in Hall 6. For Karl Bier proof, “that intelligent designed trade fairs also in the digital age: as a meeting place and platform where people come together to exchange ideas and gain new impressions and experiences.”
Of course, the fair is always a meeting point for celebrities from politics, entertainment, sport and business who come to the manufacturers’ stands.
