Zattoo Austria celebrates its first birthday
The TV streaming provider Zattoo is celebrating its first birthday in Austria. Since the start of the offer in the Alpine region, the provider has reported around 50,000 registered users on its own platform. Several million hours of TV content have already been streamed. On average, every user at Zattoo streams more than 60 hours per month, preferably on connected TVs.
Overall, Zattoo has greatly expanded its range in Austria in the first 12 months. More than 30 new TV channels such as CNN International, W24 and RiC TV have been added since the start and complement the range of HD and Full HD channels. In addition to its own on-demand area, Zattoo has also expanded its range of additional channel packages such as Cirkus and Waidwerk as well as foreign-language packages consisting of Turkish and Italian channels. In addition, since the beginning of the year, users have been able to use the Zattoo app on LG TV models and have been watching their TV program in high-speed stream since the EM in the summer.
Austrians prefer to use Zattoo on connected TVs
The majority of the usage time of Austrian Zattoo users takes place on so-called connected TVs, also on smart TVs or televisions connected to a streaming stick. 80 percent of the hours streamed are spent here. That is a higher proportion than in Germany and Switzerland, where Zattoo has also been successfully active for years. Every second Zattoo user uses another device in addition to the main device for TV reception with Zattoo. This is made possible by the multiscreen availability, with which the Zattoo app can be used on any device with an internet connection.
