Toulouse. Daniel, plumber poet with a big heart, in a tent
No bell to announce himself… Daniel lives in a tent, hanging from a pine tree, surrounded by branches delimiting a measured space on the lawn of Cosec, Chemin du Canal in Rangueil. For 12 years, this Guadeloupean has chosen to walk his frail home from town to town, from beaches to public gardens. At the call of his first name, the zipper of his shelter opens with a frank smile. This traveler, formerly a technician for a plumbing company, has put down his toolbox, but talks about his old trades, his training, with volubility. Because the important thing for him is less in the subject than in the exchange on which he feeds avidly, when he does not practice his daily gymnastics in the morning, or reading in the afternoon. After Sylvain Tesson and Marc Lévy, it is Bernard Minier that he is about to devour… “One book calls for another”, he slips happily. Creative hacker, the photo also occupies him, even though he does not have a computer. “Keeping a social link, changing the vision of poverty” these words are close to his heart. Refusing to ask for help, the plumber poet knows what he owes to neighborhood solidarity, helping hands, visits … These are the last ones that bring him the most. Even if a sandwich, a cell phone recharge, a battery for his flashlight, looks providential. Evoking the low blows of recent nights (Burning of his tent, excrement…) Daniel shakes his head without understanding, he who has so little, but for whom his meager package matters a lot. Sharing a drink or meeting the passing stranger matters most to him.
La Friche Gourmande invites you to the mountains
La Friche Gourmande (10 Impasse Didier Daurat) which since June has shone in the summer of Toulouse, takes on its winter atmosphere. On November 2, the place reopens its doors in a winter atmosphere between raclette to be enjoyed in an igloo, cable cars, grilled Chamallows® and another curling track for frenzied parties…. In other words, the place invites people from Toulouse to the mountains, without leaving the Pink City, in an original and creative environment. On the catering side, the street food stands (Trucker Guys, Pizza Lopez, the French Bagel) are also revising their menu, adapting it to the first frost. For the season, Le Chalet de la Raclette arrives at La Friche. A winter activity scheduled until March 15 where sledges, skis and period skates are also planned, associated with darts and other foosball games.
