Brandner: We take the point with Slavia and we are happy for it
You played with Slavia a point for a 2: 2 draw, how do you evaluate that point and the whole match?
In the first half we were clearly better, we scored two nice goals and led 2: 0. Perhaps we didn’t let anything go into the middle of Slavia until the beginning of the match. But after the break we got a quick goal and soon after the second. I would say that the whole second half of Slavia squeezed us, so we take the point and we are happy for it.
After a long time you were in the basics, did you look forward to it?
Of course, I didn’t play for a long time and I’m glad that, at least I think, I quite managed to score a goal and got a very valuable point.
To score your goal, did you aim for the back pole?
Exactly, it just didn’t fit the way I wanted it to, but I was aiming for the back.
Ondra Mihálik, who scored for you, put a long delay with the pass in front of the lime. Did you still believe he’d send you the ball?
I expected him to put it in there, but either he couldn’t or it didn’t work, I don’t know. Then it bounced twice, and when he finally gave it to me, I was afraid again if it wasn’t an offside. Fortunately, he was not…
You could have scored another goal…
I was afraid I would kick my goalkeeper in the head… I don’t even know where it went, I didn’t even see it. It’s a shame, but mainly that we have at least that point.
Halfway through, Slavia squeezed you. Did you want to play more from behind?
No, we said halfway through that we would still play the same, that we would try to score the third goal. But the penalty came, then the second goal and Slavia was suddenly on horseback.
Did you believe at the time that you would at least keep that point?
It was hard, it was almost always played at our gate. Like I said, we’re happy for the point.
