Arrival of 367 Afghans in Athens – For temporary accommodation in Greece
They arrived in Athens today, via Tbilisi, 269 Afghan nationals – mostly judges – in the context of commitments made by Greece and other EU Member States to provide humanitarian assistance to at-risk Afghan citizens.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, within the next few hours, another flight with 98 people. And 367 Afghan citizens come to Greece for temporary hosting.
The flight was welcomed at the airport “El. Venizelos “, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Themistoklis Demiris, the Secretary General of Immigration Policy, Patroklos Georgiadis, the Deputy Commander of the Asylum Service, Ioannis Sfyrakis and the address of the Asylum Service, Gospel Ktistaki.
All 269 Afghan nationals in their presence submitted to quick test, were recorded and transferred to accommodations. The transfer to the apartments was carried out with the assistance of the IOM, while their safe passage was carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
