Haute-Savoie. The Agglomeration of Annecy collects your old phones
From October 18 to November 20, the Greater Annecy agglomeration and 14 municipalities are teaming up with the operator Orange for a collection of old phones and tablets.
The public will be able to deposit their devices and their accessories in collectors (boxes) installed in secure public places: at the headquarters of Grand Annecy at 46 avenue des Iles, in the regional relays of Fillière and Saint-Jorioz, and in town halls, libraries, extracurricular services, etc., of the participating municipalities: Annecy, Argonay, Chavanod, Épagny-Metz-Tessy, Alby-sur-Chéran, Allèves, Bluffy, Chapeiry, Héry-sur-Alby, Nâves-Parmelan, Poisy, Saint- Félix, Fillière and Saint-Eustache.
The devices collected will be sent to an Emmaüs workshop where they are sorted, reconditioned if their condition allows it, then resold or sent to materials recycling channels. The operation does not present any risk for the personal data, which will be erased.
The proceeds finance the actions of Emmaus International as well as the development of a similar collection sector in Africa. A count of the number of devices collected will be carried out and the results announced during the European Week for Waste Reduction, which will take place from 20 to 28 November.
