Adele rules the world, Stromae rules Belgium and France
On Friday, a tsunami named Adele swept across the planet. The release of his new single took everything in its wake, smashing the 24-hour listening record so far held by South Koreans of K-Pop star BTS with “Butter”. In two rounds of the clock, its track has been listened to 24 million times on the planet via Spotify.
In addition, more than 62 million views (at the time of writing) on YouTube for “Easy On Me”, undoubtedly the big star of this extraordinary musical day with the releases of this single, that, surprise , Stromae and the new Coldplay album.
If Adele crushed the competition on Friday, not one but two countries resisted the British invader: Belgium and France. With us as with our neighbors, the maestro led the dance. “Santé” is ahead of “Easy On Me” by a short head: 160,000 listenings on Spotify against 147,000 in Belgium; 429,000 against 404,000 in France.
Even if it does not impose itself in Canada as in Switzerland, Stromae invites itself in the Top 70 on the other side of the Atlantic and in the Top 12 among the Helvetians.
Better, despite a title that divides the fans, it whistles in the 66th place of the most listened songs on the platform on a global scale with 1.34 million plays.
