Dijon. Discover the 2021 winners of the Ecrans de l’Aventure festival
If some years have seen films crush the prize list of the adventure screens festival, this thirtieth year in Dijon is not one of them. Indeed, the seven prizes awarded this year by different juries rewarded … seven different films! However, if one needs to be taken out of the water, it is fine. Out of frame by Jordan Manoukian who was awarded the Toison d’Or for the film adventure prize by the jury obtained by Elisabeth Revol, famous alayist.
High mountains, murderous sea and societal issues
This 45-minute documentary, broadcast in preview in Dijon, shows the daily life of Mathis Dumas, athlete, mountain guide and outdoor photographer.
This same jury also awarded the prize of the adventurer of the year to Corentin de Châtelperron for his 4-month experience on a floating raft to test living independently thanks to low tech. An adventure from which this “explorer of lifestyles” made a film, Four months on my biosphere, which leaves with the youth prize of the City of Dijon.
Still awarded by the jury, the special prize went to Disappeared at sea, following Johnny Burke’s investigation into his father’s footsteps at sea in 1996. The Jean-Marc Boivin Prize which rewards the authenticity of an adventure attributed to the documentary Swissway to the sky by Guillaume Broust and who has encountered the most beautiful climbing sites in Switzerland through the challenge of Cédric Lachat. Finally, the Alain Bompard prize which distinguishes an adventure containing an education for the future goes to Adventure by Marianne Chaud. A meeting between the director and exiles who managed to cross the Alps to reach France.
Finally, the Ushuaia TV prize was awarded to the documentary Invisible Harmonies divers Vincent Marie and Laurent Marie. As for the public prize, it rewards Dark green, alone in the Amazon by Jesper Buijvoets. A film allowing to discover the defender of the environment and storyteller Paul Rosolie in the heart of the Amazon jungle.
In terms of books, the Toison d’Or prize for adventure books was awarded to the book Par la force des trees by Edouard Cortès.
