In the wider area of Thessaloniki the French river overflowed resulting in the closure of part of Pontou Street between Kalochori and Sindos.
“We closed the extension of Pontos so that we do not have an accident, so that a vehicle is not swept away by the water, which can not reach up to 20 points, since the road is constantly moving,” said Delta Mayor Giannis Ioannidis.
In this context, he estimated that the road will be closed until at least tomorrow“We are watching it and as soon as it is drained we will give the road to traffic”, he points out.

As a result, flooded fields in Sesamia and Agia Paraskevi, while the volume of water and the accumulation of sediments caused the fall of the railings on the bridge in Kastanochori, but without further damage.
By decision of the Mayor of Visaltia, Athanasios Maslarinos, the traffic was banned from the morning at 09:00 on Saturday for 48 hours on the road network Sesamia-Vergis, from the church and then Vergis-Triantaphyllias, due to danger.
