Wanted: knowledge and ideas for the climate
Anyone who wants to can share knowledge, ideas and information about how we can achieve the Amsterdam climate goals with the mini-citizen deliberation. Amsterdam wants to emit at least 55 percent less CO₂ by 2030 than in 1990. That is still quite a challenge. 100 Amsterdammers who have been drawn by lot will take extra measures together to achieve this, from 1 to 16 November. You can provide input up to and including 27 October.
Amsterdam wants all participants of the citizens’ deliberation to have broad and versatile information. This way they get to work well prepared.
Information? Knowledge? experience?
People who want to share knowledge and information can put their input on a maximum of 2 A4 pages or provide a web link. We then share information that meets a number of conditions with the participants unfiltered. Everyone can also view this information on the webpage of the mini citizens’ council. There is also more information about the conditions and how the information can be sent.
Together you achieve more
The change to a more sustainable city has been tried by everyone. Amsterdam wants to live in making climate goals. Citizens’ consultations in other countries show that residents come up with good solutions to possible questions, the climate goals. The mini citizen deliberation is also to learn about how a citizen deliberation works and if we can use it more often.
6 mini-citizen consultation meetings
The participants in the mini citizens’ deliberation will meet 6 times in November. An independent moderator supervises the discussions. Experts are present. If participants wish, they can also carry out other assignments. It’s called a mini-citizen deliberation because the process is short, and contains one clear question.
