Toulouse: what is this “shit”? Discover the offbeat exhibition on the banks of the Garonne
Discover the quirky exhibition which took the Daurade quays in Toulouse as its picture rail. It’s completely “Ouch” … signed by the artist.
A strange exhibition for a strange artist… Presented until October 30 on the facade of the Quai de la Garonne, the work of Sacha Cahuzac alias Ouch, suggests a questioning of the artist himself, a self-criticism provocative. “These are simply sentences written in black on a white background expressing the self-deprecation of artistic creation,” explains this funny troublemaker, who has passed through comics. They suggest the same limits of art and make passers-by react a lot ”.
Some examples of expressions to discover on the spot: “People really post anything”, “He could at least have made a drawing”, “Is it street art?” “,” Is there a message behind all this? ” or “And it says artist”, “Surely too subtle for me to understand”.
A dental technician by profession, Ouch, 24, attended an arts school for a few months before “escaping” as he says. “Since childhood, I have always liked to draw. I was rather gifted but I am so lazy that all constraints have always made me run away ”, declares this graphic artist with trash humor who deals with all the themes of everyday life: art of course but also sexuality, relationships. social, parents… “I’m not here to sell but to react at a time when criticism is not always welcome, that’s all,” he ends. Besides, it must be popular since a work has already disappeared! “
