Coronavirus in Prague: 1202 more cases per week
The coronavirus epidemic in Prague, as well as throughout the country, is growing. The number of confirmed cases of covid-19 has increased in the metropolis in the past seven days, which is almost 300 more in the week-on-week comparison. In Prague, the daily number of positive tests jumped three times over 200 this week. Most of them were confirmed by laboratories on Wednesday, 225, which is the daily maximum since the beginning of May.
Among other things, Prague hygienists are registering an upward trend in the number of people infected in schools. In the last calendar week, they proved 204 positive for covid-19, in connection with which they ordered a quarantine of 3074 pupils and 21 teachers. In total, they solved new cases in 98 schools and school facilities out of more than 900 in the city, 95 of which have closed at least one class. One week earlier, the laboratories had discovered 132 positive pupils or teachers in Prague schools, and at least one class had been closed in 43 schools.
Since last March, when the first cases of disease appeared in the Czech Republic, laboratories have confirmed 194,817 infected people in the capital. Most recovered, 2781 people with covid died.
Vaccination
Almost 2.2 million doses of covid-19 adjuvants have been administered in Prague since last year’s vaccination, and approximately 1.1 million people have completed vaccinations. However, among them are not only Praguers, but also people from other regions who went to the capital to get vaccinated.
