A man in Prague ran into a police car, he ended up shooting
The shooting ended the attempt of Prague criminal investigators to control a man suspected of car theft. Everything took place on Monday evening in Vysočany, where the man started to drive to the police and was stopped by flat tires.
Criminal investigators who specialize in catching car thieves found out details about a case in Prague’s Malletova Street on Monday. It was there that they also noticed a young man in a parked car, which corresponded to the description of the person wanted.
They went to watch him, and when they introduced themselves as police officers, the man finally panicked and tried to escape. At the same time, they allegedly endanger the police with a car, so they drew their service weapons and first fired at the tires. The car drove about 200 meters to Skloněná Street with empty wheels, but there the police stopped it and pulled the driver out of the car.
He was said not to be drunk or drugged, nor was the car in which he sat stolen. However, he currently has something to explain and is likely to be suspected of violence against an official. In this case, the car would be taken as a weapon.
Police officers from the internal control department arrived to make the weapons available to the criminals. They will find out if the shooting was justified.
