Installed at Francazal on the former air base near Toulouse, the society Hyperloop TT keep working on his futuristic transport project whose objective is to transport around thirty people by circulating shuttles in tubes supported by pillars at a maximum speed of 1200 km / h in a straight line.
For now, in its Toulouse site, named “European research and development center”, you can find a 300-meter test track and a building where engineers had been working on site for about three and a half years.
No test at Francazal
But for now, if Hyperloop has communicated with a lot of images on the assembly at Francazal of the tubes of its test track and on the arrival of a capsule with a modern design, no test has been possible. carried out, no test was carried out at Francazal.
Brazilians in Toulouse
However, despite the delay in its schedule and the uncertainty over the technical feasibility and financial viability of such a project, the Hyperloop continues to fascinate the whole world. Friday October 8, 2021, a delegation from the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, is place to visit the infrastructure of Francazal.

A 137 km line project
This visit is not due to chance. According to Hyperloop TT, “a first feasibility study for Hyperloop in South America will be produced. It analyzes the project of a dependent road from Porto Alegre to Caxias do Sul (Brazil) within the framework of an agreement with the government of Rio Grande do Sul and a partnership with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul ” .
The project provides for a 137 km line with a maximum speed of 835 km / h, all in mountainous terrain.
Time saving
With the Hyperloop, the trip between the two Brazilian cities would drop below 20 minutes compared to more than two hours currently.
“The study predicts that a Hyperloop system along the route will reduce operating costs for transportation between the two cities by $ 435 million over 30 years. The feasibility study analyzed the first 30 years of operation, including a construction and implementation period estimated at 5 years ”, Hyperloop TT stated on its site in September 2021.
