The public spaces of Budapest come to life with contemporary sound games
Theater is the whole capital and all the statues and birds in it are actors … and of course people – this is how the latest project of the Jurányi Incubator House can be summarized.
Thanks to 7 contemporary writers, the public spaces of Budapest come to life through sound games. We can find out what the statues are talking about in the Garden of the Philosophers, what is going on in the minds of market buckets and flag-laying soldiers, or just how freshmen feel at the Margaret Island Game Park. All you need is a ticket, a smartphone and a headset.
The head of the institution of the Jurányi House, Viktória Rozgonyi-Kulcsár, is confident that the number of venues and lectures may soon increase to 30. Winter shouldn’t be an obstacle either, as the sound games are up to 15 minutes long, so they want to be enjoyable in a big coat or in the snow, said the dreamer of the series.
But how does it work?
Participation is very simple, you just have to walk the venue to start the sound game in an app and the space is already gaining a new meaning. The thought was born of an outage due to the epidemic. The organizers are confident that with this solution, in the event of another wave, people will not be left without art.
