Hanover (dpa / lni) – The order situation of the industry in Lower Saxony and is benefiting from the economic recovery is even better than before the Corona crisis. Orders in August are 36 percent higher than in August 2020, as the State Office for Statistics announced on Tuesday. Orders from abroad rose 42 percent to domestic orders by 30 percent.
According to sectors, electrical equipment (plus 47 percent), mechanical engineering (plus 47 percent), chemical products (plus 26 percent) and automobiles (plus 14 percent) recorded particularly high increases. In a month-on-month comparison, incoming orders weakened and were eight percent lower than in July.
Overall, the order books of Lower Saxony’s industry are better filled than before the crisis. Incoming orders from June to August of this year are a quarter higher than the same period in 2019, the statisticians expect.
