To reduce traffic jams to Toulouse, 2,000 carpooling spaces created in Haute-Garonne

2,000 locations pour the carpooling will be created by the Departmental Council, in order to reduce autosolism, in the next five years, by Upper Garonne.
900 existing places
“900 existing places already in 33 different areas”, recalls Martine Croquette, vice-president of the Departmental Council, in charge of mobility, infrastructures, routes. “For an investment of 3.25 million euros. “
An investment that the Departmental Council will therefore strengthen to create 2,000 additional places in the 5 years to come and thus try to limit congestion on the outskirts of the Pink City.
“We are trying to weave this carpooling service around the Metropolis. We want to ease the arrival to Toulouse.”
Eleven sites under study
The goal: that in the long term, each inhabitant of Haute-Garonne will have a carpool area at less than 15 minutes from is home.
Eleven sites are currently under study:
- Autérive (41 places)
- Miremont (19 places)
- Le Fauga (20 places)
- Pinsaguel (15 places)
- Saint-Sulpice-sur-Lèze (15 places)
- Le Cabanial (15 places)
- Boulogne-sur-Gesse (21 places)
- Lanta (15 places)
- Sandstone
- Avignonet-Lauragais
- Cintegabelle
