Figures for some of the pandemic’s indicators are the lowest in several weeks in Sunday bulletins. With the incidence and transmissibility rate remaining stable, Portugal recorded 7 more deaths and 449 new infections. There were also, in the last 24 hours, 342 people hospitalized due to Covid-19, 69 of them in intensive care, according to the most recent epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health.
In terms of contagion, looking only at the Sunday bulletins which, as a rule, have lower values, you have to go back to May 30 to find such a small record and that it was, at that time, 445 new positive diagnoses. As for admissions, before the current Sunday, with 325 beds occupied on June 13, they were the lowest in a bulletin released on this day of the week.
In contrast, the seven deaths recorded in the last 24 hours are higher than the last two Sundays when 2 and 5 deaths were registered, respectively.
Portugal has accumulated 1,071,114 infected and 17,993 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
The report (the number of new cases in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants) remains the same as the previous day, with 101.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants nationwide and 103 cases on the continent. Also the transmissibility index – the R

These indicators are in line with the pandemic red lines report which, on Friday, concluded that pandemic activity in Portugal is at low intensity.

Regarding the pressure on health services, people hospitalized due to Covid-19 in Portugal (342) were 5 more than the day before. Of the sick patients, 69 were in Intensive Care Units (ICU), which represents another 4 beds occupied. As of Saturday, there were 337 inpatients, 65 of them in intensive care.
This indicator does not allow, however, to know the rotation of the beds, nor how many of these patients are discharged or died from the disease.
As for the seven deaths, four men and three women, counted in the last 24 hours, all wounds occurred over 60 years and were registered in the North (2), Center (1), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (3) and Algarve regions (1).
As for contagion, two regions, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (LVT) and North, lead the numbers in the country. In the first, there were 181 positive diagnoses in the last 24 hours. In the North region, there were 135 more. They are followed by the Center (62), Alentejo (21) and Algarve (19). On the other hand, Azores (16) and Madeira (15) are where there are fewer new cases.
There are still 27,560 contacts under surveillance in the last 24 hours, 75 more than the day before.
