In the wonderful scenery of Slănic-Moldova resort, at the “Stâna Dacilor” Farm on Mount “Bolovanu” will take place, next weekend (October 8-10), a new edition of the autumn holiday ,, Răvășitul Oilor ”, During which the visitors will also have a fair that awaits them with a lot of specialties and dishes from the local cuisine, along with many handicrafts.
Also, all those present will be able to participate in a series of events dedicated to this event: folk performances, animal competitions and traditional products, campfire, but also possible to enjoy and purchase specifically prepared: sheep pastrami, shepherd’s bulz , cheeses of all kinds and many other surprises prepared in a cauldron, all sprinkled with plenty of wine and fresh must.
The tumult of the sheep is a symbolic celebration that marks the end of the pastoral year. From ancient times it has been celebrated at the time of the descent of the sheep from the mountain, with dances and games, with a lot of good cheer and with food to measure. In this way, the tradition was born through which the producers present the products and are proud of them, in a real culinary festival.
Among the recipes for the goodies that will be presented here is sheep custard, which, as the producers do not say of such preparation, is prepared from deboned mutton, over which it is presented with a sieve salt and conditioning: pepper, paprika, thyme , garlic, basil. After keeping for a few days at the fezandat, the meat is placed in a warm stew, prepared from water or white wine, in which it was boiled was bay leaf, muffinsettar, black pepper, after which it is kept for a day to a week and put to dry. So participate, enjoy and enjoy!
The event is organized by the Farm “Stâna Dacilor”, in partnership with the City Hall of the resort-resort Slănic-Moldova.
