Coronavirus in Prague: 734 more cases a week
The spread of coronavirus infection in Prague is accelerating. In the last seven days, tests have confirmed 734 new cases, 15 percent more than a week earlier. Throughout September, there were 2,616 confirmed cases of covid-19 treatment in metropolises. It was a thousand more than in August, but at the same time a quarter of last September. Per 100,000 inhabitants, there are 55 new cases of infection in the capital in the last seven days. It was seven less a week ago.
In comparison, there were 87 new infections in Prague every September day. In the first half of the month, the daily average was 75 cases, in the second half of September it rose to 100 cases per day. The daily maximum was 155 cases this Wednesday.
The growing number of infected is not yet reflected in death statistics. In connection with the covid, five people died in Prague in September, the same as in August. Last September, 43 people died in the capital with a new type of coronavirus infection.
For the entire duration of the epidemic since the beginning of last March, when the first cases of the disease appeared in the Czech Republic, there have been almost 192,700 cases of the disease have been identified in Prague. About 188,300 people recovered, while 2,773 died.
Since the end of last December, people in the Czech Republic have been vaccinated against covid-19. A total of 2.16 million doses of nursing care were administered in Prague during the entire vaccination period. More than a million people have been fully vaccinated in the metropolis.
