The local authorities of Occitanie validate the financing of the LGV Toulouse-Bordeaux
The time has come for the financing of the project for a high-speed line in the south-west, between Bordeaux and Toulouse. At the helm, the Prefect of the Occitania region, Etienne Guyot, who has just been entrusted by the Prime Minister with a coordination mission for the entire project. The representative of the State thus gathered Sunday evening (September 26) the president of the Region, Carole Delga, and the presidents of the departmental councils, as well as the president of Toulouse Métropole and the presidents of the communities of agglomeration of the territory.
According to a statement from the regional council, “all the invited communities in Occitania expressed their full support for this project, which is experiencing decisive acceleration“. And given the regional impact of such a project, the commitment of distant communities clearly those of the territories concerned, between Toulouse and Bordeaux.
Because if the departments of Haute-Garonne and Tarn-et-Garonne have logically given their agreement, those of Gers, Lot, Hautes-Pyrénées and Tarn are also involved. Ditto for the Agglomeration Communities of Albi, Auch, Cahors, Castres-Mazamet, Montauban, Muret, SICOVAL, Tarbes-Lourdes and the Toulouse Metropolis have thus committed to the financing of the project. .
The total of this commitment from the communities of Occitanie (agglomerations, departments, and region) amounts to 3 billion euros, including 1.2 from the Region. The State has committed up to 4.1 billion. The prefect must meet on Tuesday, September 28 the funders of the New Aquitaine region to complete the round table.
