37th Alexandria Film Festival: Greece and director Angelos Frantzis honored
The director of the film “Happiness”, Angelos Frantzis was honored at the 37th Alexandria Film Festival
The opening ceremony was illuminated with Greek colors 37th Alexandria Film Festival, where Greece was the honored country and the director Angelos Frantzis was honored for all his work, receiving an honorary plaque, in the presence of the Egyptian public that had flooded the area.
With the Greek flag to bind on the stage of the first of this great cultural organization for the whole Middle East, the Minister of Culture of Egypt Inas Abdel Dayem spoke warmly about Greece and Greek culture.
«Today we honor the Greece of art, culture, history, philosophy, and with which Egypt is so close, developing strong cultural relations in all areas“, Said the Egyptian Minister of Culture, in the presence of the government of Alexandria Mohamed El Sherif who also gave the honorary presence at the event.
Handing the honorary distinction to Angelos Frantzis, the organizers of the festival stressed that “we honor the well-known and important Greek director, who we honor for the whole of his work”.
Present and Hellenic Community of Alexandria, with Andreas Vafiadis, the vice-president of the expatriate expatriate organization, to write Angelos Fratzis, together with the general secretary of the Community, Dimitris Kavouras, but also the director of the branch of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture, Stavros, Halin.
The 37th Alexandria Film Festival, whose movie screenings start today, will last until September 30.
