Prague fought its way into the top 10 best cities in the world
Prague has been ranked “best cities”. Time Out magazine published its fourth list 37 pleasant places to live, which was based on the testimonies of editors from around the world and residents of the metropolis.
The server thus focused on the quality of life and mood of the locals. In addition to environmental initiatives and access to them, the so-called Time Out Index also examines nightlife, restaurants and cultural activities. Another important factor in creating the ranking was the assessment of the urban community, which is due to the pandemic, according to the authors, more important than ever.
The leaderboard watched the pandemic
Caroline McGinn, editor-in-chief of Time Out magazine, said the server supports cities with the move. “The Time Out Index allows us to keep a finger on the pulse of urban residents around the world and find out what they really think about the functioning and social life of their city right now.”
According to McGinn, this year’s list highlights cities that have managed to reduce the unpleasant conditions caused by the epidemiological situation. “You would think that a pandemic could defeat the way of life in the city. However, the results show that the sense of community is stronger than ever, people support each other, as well as local businesses and initiatives, and many of us even have fun in our cities, ”we must McGinn for Time Out.
San Francisco is the warmest city
San Francisco, which is world-famous for its Golden Gate Bridge, good restaurants and a thriving technology industry, topped the list. However, according to Time Out magazine, it is unique in its unbeatable combination of progressivity, sustainability and acceptance of otherness, because the city is actively involved in LGBTQ + rights.
The second place can be proud of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The capital of cycling is interested in sustainability and 89 percent of locals appreciate the city’s greenery and the opportunity to walk in nature. According to Time Out, the city wisely used last year’s lockdown and focused on renovations, history and the “spirit of the community” to consolidate its status as a modern, environmentally friendly metropolis.
The beauties of Prague will not get tired of the locals
As far as Prague is concerned, it is seventh in the list of the best cities. “Prague is at the top of the table as the most beautiful city in the world, 82 percent of the population named it that way,” says Time Out. In addition, Prague residents were able to get the beauties of the capital, such as Charles Bridge, practically without tourists, which was unthinkable a few years ago.
Roughly 89 percent of Prague residents also said that it is easy to do without a car in the metropolis, because it is easy to move around the city to travel. According to the server, the possibility of undisturbed walking is the center of the reason why Prague was named the second most comfortable city in the world.
