Become a guardian of the forest

Take part in the competition for the collection of old mobile phones and tablets, which we organize in cooperation with the companies REMA Systém, as, and thus contribute to saving gorillas and other animals in Central Africa!

Prague Zoo is coming up with the next round of the competition in the collection of old mobile phones and tablets Become a guardian of the forest, which it continues to organize in cooperation with the companies REMA Systém, a.s.

COMPETE AND HELP

By collecting old ones mobile devices you will help gorillas and other endangered species. For each mobile phone or tablet handed in, the Prague Zoo receives CZK 10 from REMA Systém, a.s., which co-organizes the competition. This money then goes to the collection account “We help them survive” and is supported by them nature conservation directly in Central Africamore here.

WHO IS THE COMPETITION FOR?

The competition is intended for any group of 10-30 children up to 18 years of age, with one adult registered as an umbrella. This opens up a wide range of competitions, for example in the form of school groups, elementary art schools, interest free time groups and associations or only selected groups of children visitors throughout the country.

CONTEST CONDUCT

The competition runs from September 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023. You can find the complete rules here.

WHAT CAN YOU WIN?

Each member of the Collective will receive a special prize for participating in competitions “I’m helping endangered gorillas”.

For 40 or more retired mobile phones or tablets you get free guided tour. Part of the win it isn’t entrance to the Prague Zoo area.

For 120 or more retired mobile phones or tablets, you win tickets to the zoo for a symbolic 1 CZK for each participant of the competition team (for every 10 minors or 5 children of pre-school age, we will provide 1 free entry for an accompanying adult).*

Great prizes in the form of unusual experiences await the competition groups with the largest number of collected phones:

  • 1st place: 24 hours at the Prague Zoo

  • 2nd place: Tour of the zoo with a visit to the breeding facility and a meeting with the breeder

  • 3rd place: Tour of the zoo and meeting with animals from hobby farms

* Competition teams that place 1st.–3rd place and decide to draw a prize in the form of an experience program, they will receive an entrance fee for a symbolic 1 CZK on the day of this program.

Results of the contest Become a guardian of the primeval forest – spring 2022

  1. location: Collective of children from the 1st grade of ZŠ Luže (with a total number of 485 retired facilities)

  2. place: School club at ZŠ Veltrusy competition for ZOO Prague (with a total of 247 retired facilities)

  3. place: 2. A, school class of Oblacná Liberec Elementary School (with a total of 185 retired devices)

We thank all participating collectives, congratulate the winners and look forward to the next year of the contest Become a guardian of the forest!

This year’s competition was very successful. A total of 56 schools participated and they accumulated in less than four months a total of 5,995 mobile devices (mobile phones and tablets), which is five times more than last year.

The Prague Zoo offers schools several types of educational activities. On the following pages, you have the opportunity to get to know the offer, if you are interested, you can simply order.

You can choose from a guided tour (tour of a part of the zoo on a selected topic), educational programs (programs led by lecturers in which students actively participate) and additional programs (worksheets, teacher packs, etc.).
