A week ago, there were 72 fewer new cases. There were 63 people in the hospitals on Saturday with a new type of coronavirus infection. In a week-on-week comparison, the number of hospitalized increased by 11. The reproductive number, which remains above one on the 11th day in a row, is also growing.

The daily numbers of newly confirmed cases increase week-on-week on the sixth day in a row. More than 300 cases entered the statistics on Thursday and Friday, the highest increase since July 13.
In the Czech Republic, there are on average 16 newly detected cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days. However, there are significant differences between regions. The coronavirus epidemic is most widespread in the Karlovy Vary region.

At district levels, the disease is most prevalent in Karlovy Vary. There are 67 new cases per week per 100,000 people.
Slight transmission of the reproduction number
The reproductive number, which indicates the average number of infected from one positive test, rose slightly from 1.24 to 1.26. The last time was higher was in mid-July. Above one, the gap between accelerating and slowing the spread of infection, is the reproductive number on day 11.
There were 63 people in the hospitals on Saturday with a new coronavirus infection. Doctors rate the condition of 13 of them as difficult. One week earlier, 52 were hospitalized, nine of whom were in severe condition.
Since the beginning of the epidemic in the Czech Republic, the new coronavirus has been proven to have infected 1.68 million people. More than 98 percent of them have already recovered, while 30,406 have died. Two deaths have been added to the statistics in the last seven days.
According to interim results, the laboratories tested almost 42,500 samples on Saturday. In a week-on-week comparison, the number of tests was lower by about 13,800, but data on the tests performed are delayed in the statistics.
Lower proportion of vaccinated
The number of vaccinated was also lower on Saturday. According to preliminary medical figures, they administered 4368 doses to people, while a week earlier their number approached 8900.
A total of 11.54 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in the Czech Republic since the beginning of vaccination at the end of December. 5,777,999 people are fully vaccinated, ie approximately 54 percent of the total population of the Czech Republic.
