A key indicator in the spread of the disease is also the number of people with covid-19 in hospitals who have become unchanged in recent days. On the last holiday of Saturday, 57 infected people were hospitalized, of which 11 were in serious condition.
The incidence number, which shows the weekly number of newly infected per 100,000 inhabitants, is still 13, previously stagnated at 12 for several days. However, large differences remain between the region and the districts.
The worst situation in the long run is Prague, where in the past seven days there are 29 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants. Regularly the Central Bohemian Region with an incidence of 17 and the South Bohemian Region with 15 infected per capita. In contrast, in the Olomouc Region, there are five cases of coronavirus per week per 100,000 people, and Pardubický and Královéhradecký have six.
Of the districts, the epidemic is now the most widespread in the vicinity of the capital – the district of Prague-West reported an incidence of 28 and Prague-East of 27. In some regions, only case units testify in the last week and Jesenice remains without a single confirmed case in seven days.
The reproduction number for Sunday is the same as the previous day 1.04. If it is greater than one, the epidemic accelerates, slowing below this value. Recently, this monitored indicator has been moving further around this limit.
The number of people in hospital with coronavirus was around 65 on weekdays this week. It dropped to 57 over the weekend, similar to last Saturday. A year ago, at the same time, almost three times as many patients with covid required hospital care.
Since the first cases of the disease appeared in the Czech Republic at the beginning of last March, almost 1.68 million cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the country. Most of the infected have healed, 30,402 people with covid-19 have died. So far, there are six deaths this week.
Currently, 2,091 people are facing covid in the Czech Republic, and an average of 220 new cases of coronavirus have been added on weekdays this week.
Number of deaths, hospitalizations and serious illnesses that must be vaccinated. On Saturday, health workers vaccinated more than 8,200 people against coronavirus across the country, about 6,000 less week-on-week, but data for the past day may increase.
More than 5.6 million people now have completed vaccination in the country – after eight months of vaccination – more than half of the population. The goal is to achieve full vaccination in at least 70 percent of the population. It is now possible to get vaccinated from the age of 12.
The government will discuss on Monday who should receive the third dose of covid-19 vaccination. The attitude of professional societies, according to which, for example, people after organ transplants, seniors over the age of 65, clients of homes for the elderly, patients with chronic diseases, as well as health care workers and social workers would need another booster dose, intends to follow it.
With the current return of people on vacation and children from vacation, the covid-19 epidemic will intensify, according to experts. However, even with a high-risk development scenario, the coming wave should not be as strong as last autumn or spring, thanks to vaccinations and the large number of people who have already suffered.
Infection development maps testing. Laboratories performed almost 50,000 tests on Saturday, including over 33,000 antigenic, the rest more accurate PCR. There were about 78,000 tests a week ago. Preventive tests for covid-19, with a positivity of around 0.1 percent, will apply to everyone free of charge from September.
People are covered by two PCR tests and four antigen tests per month from public health insurance. The government originally planned to charge for tests for people over the age of 18 after the summer holidays, but changed its mind. She justified this by the unfavorable development of the epidemic in some European countries, which is exacerbated by mutations in the virus.
Children will be tested repeatedly on their upcoming return to school if they are not vaccinated or have already developed the disease. Mandatory regular testing in companies, which was in the spring, the state does not plan yet.
