The hastily carried out reconstruction was demanding, conservationists, hygienists, firefighters, the building authority have special requirements and dance institutions also have special operating conditions, “said Antonín Schneider, manager of the Prague Dance Center. “The House of Dance will offer an exceptional concentration of artistic, educational and professional potential – it will finally be a dignified environment for our work,” he added.
The dance house is being built in the building of the former Žižkov Spa in Husitská Street in Prague 3. There would be dance rehearsal rooms, workshops or facilities for artists. The building belongs to the capital and is managed by the City Hall of Prague 3. The Tanec Praha company came up with the project of the center.
