New Saturday of demonstrations against the health pass. The sixth. Two weeks before the start of the school year, the mobilization is not weakening in Annecy where at least 3,300 people marched in town. An increasingly politicized procession even if this recovery orchestrated by sovereignist movements and parties does not please most of the demonstrators.
Yann is the unofficial figurehead of a movement without a real leader … but not without political messages. For him, the very fact of demonstrating is already a political act: “People are angry. They have their evil in them and want to express it. After that, there are political parties that are grafted. People do what they want. We are for freedom”.
In the procession, Civitas, a fundamentalist Catholic organization, political parties, such as the Patriots, or sympathizers of Nicolas Dupont-Aignan. Without forgetting the Savoy movements or even the yellow vests.
This politicization of the movement does not appeal to everyone. Especially not in Khaled: “All recovery attempts will be unwelcome wherever they come from” he warns. But this apolitical voice is struggling to make itself heard in a movement that mixes sometimes dubious symbols. With diverted stars of David, or a cross of Lorraine which rubs shoulders with references to the Shoah.
