Strong storms swept through the Czech Republic. In Prague, part of the slope slipped on the dormitory
Throughout the Czech Republic, precipitation totals averaged five to 15 millimeters in 24 hours. In the area of the northern border mountains, the maximum total precipitation was recorded in Harrachov, namely 31.1 mm in 24 hours.

The weather disrupted rail traffic
In most parts of the country, the night storms were without major problems. In Prague however, due to a landslide from the slope on the track, the operation on the railway line in the section Prague, Veleslavín – Prague, Masaryk Railway Station had to be interrupted.
“During the night, we intervened in four cases related to heavy rain,” Prague firefighters said on Twitter.
On South Bohemia firefighters went to more than 50 events due to storms, mainly to fallen trees. Somewhere per hour it rained over 37 liters per square meter. This follows from the information of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute and the spokesman of the regional fire brigade, Vratislav Malý.
The first events were reported by firefighters around 21:00. During the next two hours, they had to intervene in 53 events in connection with the storms, 44 of which were the removal of fallen trees. They intervened mainly in Prachatice, Strakonice and Tábor.

“Since 8.55 pm, when we recorded the first intervention in connection with today’s storms, we have 30 exits so far. In 23 cases these are fallen trees, especially in Prachatice,” Vratislav Malý from the Fire and Rescue Service of the South Bohemian Region summed up the situation after 10 pm. An hour later it was already 53 exits, in 44 cases to the fallen trees. People from Prachatice, Strakonice and Tábor reported the most damage.
Hourly precipitation totals over 37 millimeters were recorded by meteorologists in the villages of Strážný and Borová Lada in the Prachatice region or in Strakonice.
Firefighters on East Bohemia they had to deal with the aftermath of severe storms at night and this morning. In particular, they cleared fallen and broken trees and branches. But the storms did not cause major damage or floods.

Firefighters destroyed the fallen trees in many places. They intervened, for example, in Svojanov in the Svitavy region, in Kladruby nad Labem in the Pardubice region, Luž, Stojice, Kostelec u Heřmanova Městec and Rabštejnská Lhota in the Chrudim region or in Dolní Dobrouč, in the Orlické Ústí region.
Central Bohemian firefighters also had about 40 exits from Saturday 18:00, of which about 30 were to fallen trees and branches. According to fire brigade spokesman Jan Sýkora, the interventions were not large-scale and no major damage was caused.
