The vaccination bus set out on a journey through Prague. The first stop was the zoo
“The operation of the mobile center was smooth, ie without a long wait in line. The whole procedure took the individual a similar time as in the Metropolitan Vaccination Center in Vyšehrad, “introduced Marcela Pokorná from Medicon medical companies, personal staff ensures the operation of both vaccination centers.
“There are people of all ages, including children. Older people appreciate that they can be vaccinated with a single-dose safe, “an employee who applies safely told ČTK.
On Saturday, use a new service, for example, a mother who had her two children under the age of fifteen vaccinated or a pensioner about 80 years old. “I was somehow not too afraid of coronavirus infections as she decided to vaccinate only now,” said an elderly woman who worked in the hospital’s infection department before retirement.
At the moment of her presence, the mayor Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates) also arrived. “For people who are not vaccinated for various reasons, we offer the possibility of vaccination directly on board or choose a later time in a stone vaccination site,” said Hřib, who again called on the Ministry of Health to allow vaccination of foreigners – self-payers.
The low-floor vaccination bus has a capacity of up to three hundred clients a day. It can also serve people with disabilities and children from the age of 12 at most of the dozens of planned stops. The bus of the Prague transport company is the first vaccination place for the age group 12 – 15 without the need for pre-registration. When vaccinating children, it is always a condition for the presence of a pediatrician. In the mobile center, people have a choice between single-dose protection from Johnson and Johnson and two-dose protection from Pfizer.
In the second case, the first or second dose can be applied as needed and, if necessary, the second dose can also be ordered to the Metropolitan Center. After the zoo, the Vaccination bus will move to the embankment at Hořejší nábřeží, where it will be in the middle of the week. Other sites will follow – among others at the Olympic Festival in Stromovce, in the Botanical Garden, at the Prague Exhibition Grounds and on the “opposite” embankment at Rašín’s embankment. The current route of the Vaccination Bus and other information about the project are available on the city’s website ockovani.praha.eu/bez-registrace.
At each current bus stop, only a health insurance card and proof of identity are required to register on the spot, then the interest and the doctor fill in the questionnaire. After the application of the vaccine, we will receive each vaccination card in the rest zone and should then wait for about half an hour.
“We were inspired in Germany, Austria or Lithuania. The vaccine bus is part of our strategy to expand our ability to protect ourselves from covid-19. We always react according to the stated target groups – we vaccinated directly in homes for the elderly, we vaccinate homeless people as part of special field events, and we are now approaching younger people by bus, ”explained councilor Milena Johnová (Prague herself).
According to the regional vaccination coordinator Martin Ježek, this is “an ideal opportunity to bring vaccination closer to undecided citizens or to those of us who for other reasons could not use stone vaccination sites,” he added. Prague is above the national average in vaccinating the population. About 45 percent of people with permanent residence in metropolises have already completed vaccination, and in total more than a million and three fourth doses of vaccine have been given in Prague to people from other regions, especially Central Bohemia.
