Several sources familiar with the course of the tender stated that the adepts included both the previous directors of the largest Czech air port and the former managers of Czech Airlines (ČSA).
The selected Jiří Pos is not automatically certain. He will still have to appear before the government committee for the personnel nomination.
“We can confirm that the Ministry of Finance received a total of six applications for this tender. For the purposes of the Nomination Act, the interviews of these candidates before the selection committee are now being evaluated. The commission will then recommend the most suitable candidate to the government committee for personnel nomination. The Ministry of Finance, managed by Alena Schillerová (in the government for YES), is another shareholder in the airport. Recently, the ministry decided not to extend the contract to the current chairman of the board, Václav Řehoř.
Finally, after hesitation, Řehoř also decided to enter the tender, as he himself confirmed. However, according to the information, the List of Reports was not the only one of the six applicants with similar training.
Martin Kačur, who ran Ruzyně Airport from 2002 to 2005 and now manages the private Prague Airport Vodochody connected with the local production company Aero, also signed up.
“Originally, I did not intend to introduce it anywhere, but I can confirm that I applied for the competition. In our field, the Prague Airport post office is the biggest challenge, “Kačur responded to a direct question. The winner and another ex-director in the competition was Jiří Pos, who has also worked for Czech Airlines and now runs the Karlovy Vary Regional Airport.
In addition to this trio, according to unofficial information, the former CSA chief Antonín Jakubše also submitted the application. His participation and the participation of Jiří Pos have been valid before also the Zdopravy.cz server.
According to the findings of the List of Reports, Peter Jusko, a former long-time CSA vice president, was also in the selection process. According to credible sources, the former CSA manager Hana Šmejkalová, who ran the airport in Pardubice until last year, was also among the six applicants.
Originally, it was speculated that the former Minister of Transport for YES, Dan Ťok, should also apply for a management position at Prague Airport. But that was not confirmed.
Ťok “instead” started applying for a contribution on the supervisory board of the semi-state company ČEZ. So far, however, it has remained only in the position of deputy. Minister Alena Schillerová said of Ťok at the end of June, earlier before the ČEZ General Meeting, that she remained only “in reserve”.
