Prague eliminates T6A5 trams. They will leave for the last time on Saturday
The company will take two T6A5 trams, which will run on tourist retrolines.
Old cars give way to modern Škoda 15T trams.
“For fans of public transport, we have prepared a farewell to trams with several symbolic links. It is almost exactly 26 years since the takeover of the first two cars, which was on June 24, 1995. We put the trams into operation for the first time on line number 4, and only on November 6, 1995, “said DPP Technical Director Jan Šurovský.

The T6A5 trams will run from 08:00 until 18:00 on Saturdays. They will travel every 15 minutes, as so-called solo cars from Smíchov Railway Station to Čech Square. At 18:15 all six trams leave from Smíchovské nádraží on the way through Prague. Trams will run on the route Anděl, Újezd, Malostranská and through Chotkovy sady to Špejchar. “At 19:00, the trams will set off on their last ride to their home depots,” added DPP spokeswoman Řehková.
T6A5 trams in Prague
The Prague Transport Company was the largest operator of Tatra T6A5 trams in the Czech Republic, purchasing a total of 150 in the period 1995–1997. In the first series in 1995 and 1996, there were 80 cars whose home depot was Motol. In the second series in 1996, DPP took over another 50 vehicles, all of which also headed for Motol. The remaining 20 cars arrived at DPP in 1997 and their home depot became Žižkov.
