RegioJet will resume daily connections to Budapest, and the night train to Belgium is scheduled to start running in March
The end of March is the first working date for the start of a new connection from Prague to the Benelux.
RegioJet returns with the operation of its new route, which opened last year for a few weeks from Prague to Budapest via Vienna. From June 13, he will start running on this line twice a day.
The connections will leave Prague at 4:49 and 12:49, the journey takes 7 hours and 17 minutes on the way there, five minutes shorter on the way back. RegioJet has been running to Budapest since the end of May on a connection from Prague to Croatia, and there are often minimal tickets available on the connection system between the Czech and Hungarian capitals, often none at all. The trains leave at 7:52 and 15:52.
Ticket prices from Prague to Budapest start at 399 crowns. Last year, RegioJet also wanted to get passengers on this route on the busy Vienna-Budapest branch. In Budapest, RegioJet runs to Kelenföld Station.
Last year, Hungary became another country where RegioJet started running with its trains. From next year, the carrier should expand to the west, planning to open a night train from Prague to Amsterdam, Brussels and Ostend via Berlin. So far, the carrier has stated that it will start running with the new timetable in December 2022, but the draft timetable for next year is stated as a possible start date in March next year. The first train is scheduled to depart on March 31.
“We plan to launch this night train over the next year. This is the first working date, but the exact start date has not been set yet,“Said RegioJet spokesman Aleš Ondrůj.
