River levels are rising, Prague is closing the floodplains
Meteorologists expect the Berounka peak above the 1st degree of flood activity. Therefore, they are expected to exceed it on the Vltava in Prague’s Chuchle.
The capital will prevent floodplains and flood gates on Čertovka as a precaution. This was announced by the mayor Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates), stating that the metropolis is also in contact with the organizers of the weekend Midsummer celebrations Navalis.
Also in Děčín, at the request of the Elbe River Basin, they built a flood wall near Parolodi in the evening. According to the forecast, the Elbe is to reach four meters on Saturday around six in the morning, which is why it had the basin built in advance in the light.

The updated warning against rising levels is valid until Saturday noon in Prague, the South Bohemian Region and parts of the Pilsen and Central Bohemian Regions.

The second stage, marking the flood emergency, was performed on Friday morning by Smutná in Ratají, Úslava in Prádle and Koterov and Klabava in Nová Huta.

About three dozen streams are in the first stage. These are most often smaller streams in western, southern and central Bohemia. The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) also registers the first few stages in the Vysočina, South Moravian and Moravian-Silesian regions.

According to meteorologists, in the past 24 hours it has rained almost everywhere from outside the mountainous areas in the northeast.
The highest precipitation totals, most often between 25 and 35 mm, were recorded in the southern half of Bohemia and Moravia.
The most precipitation (65.7 mm in 24 hours) fell in Dolní Věstonice. A zone of storms with heavy rain hit the northeast of Moravia and Silesia. Precipitation totals there ranged between 25 and 40 mm.

In the next 24 hours, precipitation was to fall within 20 millimeters. A warning against rising river levels is valid in parts of Bohemia and Moravia and Silesia until the early evening hours.
