EgyptAir will start flying from Prague. He will deploy the A220 on the line to Hurghada
EgyptAir will be the third carrier on the route from Prague to the Red Sea.
The air connection between the Czech Republic and the resorts on the Egyptian part of the Red Sea will be expanded again. EgyptAir will start flying between Prague and Hurghada from Sunday, May 23.
EgyptAir announced the new connection on its Facebook profile, later confirmed by Prague Airport. For the time being, the line will be in operation once a week, always on Sundays; from mid-June, the number of flights will increase to two weeks; the connection will also be in operation on Thursdays. The new connection will be operated in cooperation with the Čedok travel agency.
EgyptAir will thus be the third carrier to fly on this route after Smartwings and Air Cairo. Thanks to virtually no restrictions on entering the country, Egypt became a popular destination for Czech tourists during the pandemic. Smartwings fly to Hurghada every day, Air Cairo twice a week.
EgyptAir will deploy the Airbus A220-300. Departure from Prague is at 17:15, from Hurghada at 11:00. The aircraft will fly in a configuration for 137 passengers, who can choose from 122 seats in Economy class and 15 seats in Comfort class in a separate part of the cabin. Passengers have checked baggage with a limit of 23 kilograms in the price of the ticket, and you can also enjoy free snacks on board or access to the entertainment system from your own mobile device. You can also use the Wi-Fi internet connection during the flight for a fee. In the afternoon, the carrier began selling tickets in higher classes with prices approaching twenty thousand crowns, but we can expect to expand sales to include cheaper tariffs.
“Direct flights from Prague to popular resorts in Egypt have long been popular among Czech travelers. I believe that the new connection to Hurghada during the summer season will be used by those interested in trips with travel agencies as well as individual tourists. We are also glad that a completely new carrier is coming to Václav Havel Prague Airport at this time as well. We will also see the interesting potential of flights from Prague to other destinations in Egypt, which we are negotiating with carriers, “ said Jaroslav Filip, Director of Aviation at Prague Airport.
