The purchase of tickets in Prague’s public transport will go through an external application, Prague offers a deeplink
Developers can start adding the ability to purchase digital tickets for Prague’s public transport to their applications. However, this is not a direct integration of the purchase into the third-party application environment, but a redirection to the application PID Flyer or e-shop. The municipal IT company ICT Operator, which, among other things, takes care of Lítačka, is starting to offer the so-called deeplink connection free of charge.
“Our goal is to continue to increase sales through PID Lítačka. That is why deep links to PID Lítačka have been created, which anyone can use, whether they are existing applications or new applications. In practice, the user is redirected to PID Lítačka or to a store for the purchase of short-term tickets, where he can download the application free of charge, ”states the ICT Operator.
Deeplink is available for all interested parties. If interested, the city company will provide them with documentation where the integration is described. The first partner is Seznam.cz, which has implemented this option in the Timetables application.
PID Lítačka has been enabling the purchase of short-term tickets and long-term coupons for some time now. The popularity of this option is growing. “The highest number of purchases in 24 hours exceeds 10,000 tickets per day. The PID Lítačka mobile application has thus become one of the most widely used channels for selling short-term tickets, ”describes the ICT Operator.
Prague also says that the digital purchase of the fare will cost the capital cheaper than it is for classic tickets or via SMS. Purchases from PID Lítačka include commissions that they use for the operation of the check-in system MOS.
