Prague has started using the service from Moderna in selected vaccination centers
“I am glad that we started vaccinating in Prague in long-prepared vaccination centers, which could be launched thanks to the first delivery of safety from Moderna. Finally, as in other regions, we vaccinate with all three types of vaccines. We have significantly more vaccination sites ready, the only thing we lack are regular deliveries in larger volumes so that we can go at full capacity and vaccinate as many people as possible as quickly as possible. We divide vaccines into vaccination places according to the number of registered, thus responding to the interest of Praguers, “says Milena Johnová, Councilor for Health and Social Policy.
A stress test took place in the Municipal Polyclinics in Prague last week, when workers ensuring the operation of quarantine facilities and isolated positive persons and other services were vaccinated there. However, the operation was officially launched on Monday, as well as at the Municipal Hospital of Aftercare in Prague 9, both of which are being set up by the capital.
There are currently three stations available in the Prague Municipal Polyclinics in Spálená Street, where each undergoes a short entrance interview before vaccinations with volunteers from the ranks of medics, and is then safely applied by medical staff.
There is interest in modern vaccination
Before the start of vaccination, about a thousand people were registered in the Municipal Hospital for follow-up care, and about 500 in the city clinics. In addition to seniors and health professionals, they can also be vaccinated here, for example, pedagogical, who now also have access to registration.
It is vaccinated in Prague by the safe companies Pfizer / BionTech, AstraZeneca and from Monday now also by those from the company Moderna. A total of 5,200 doses of Moderna were set aside for the capital in the first delivery from the state, which did not go to state hospitals, but were shared by eight Prague vaccination centers on Friday. In turn, it was possible for those interested to register to be able to choose a specific date for vaccination in the central reservation system.
The vaccine from Moderna is now vaccinated in both of the above-mentioned city medical facilities and also, for example, in Na Františku Hospital, Sv. Kříže Žižkov or for example at the Prosek Polyclinic. However, the exact date is not yet known when another delivery from Moderna will be set aside for Prague.
“On Monday we started vaccinating with a safe Modern and I can confirm that there is interest in vaccinating. We currently vaccinate about 80 people a day, but we are able to expand the vaccination capacity to 120 people a day, depending on the amount of safety provided. Seniors over the age of 70, paramedics or new teachers can apply to us classically through the Central Reservation System, “says David Doležil, director of the Municipal Polyclinic in Prague.
“Vaccines from Moderna arrived in Prague compared to the original plan with a delay of almost two weeks last Friday. We carefully divided a total of 5,200 doses among eight vaccination sites according to the queue of registered vaccinees. There are currently 38 registered vaccination sites in the capital, whose capacity, including mobile teams, is 8556 vaccinations per day, “says Martin Ježek, Regional Vaccination Coordinator for Prague.
