A covid appeared at the town hall in Prague 6, the floor was closed. Nothing adventurous, commented Mayor Kolář Home
The government ensures the remote participation of representatives and councilors. The distance session is already underway, but legislation is lacking |
“It simply came to our notice then. Normally a covid plague appeared at the town hall, in response we had the fourth floor where the plague was closed, we asked all colleagues to stay at home on Friday, “said Mayor Kolář at the Lidovky.cz server.
“The fourth floor (where Mayor Ondřej Kolář also resides in the editor’s office) was completely disinfected over the weekend and remained closed on Mondays for preventive reasons. All employees from this department underwent testing on Monday, and those who are positive are staying at home and following the instructions of the hygienic station staff, “said Hannich.
Zdeněk Boublík, a spokesman for the Prague Hygiene Station, declined to comment on whether there was a community spread of covid-19 at Prague 6 City Hall. “We do not provide this information because it is sensitive personal data,” he said, adding that he could not provide the information even in an anonymized form.
According to the spokesman, Monday’s committee – where the whole matter was supposed to be resolved – only informed about the current situation, but no further conclusions were drawn from the situation, as the reduction of the affected department had already taken place. According to Kolář, the rules are already set systemically. “Parties are taking turns at the town hall, so that too many people do not come into contact with each other and so that there can be substitutability if someone happens to be quarantined. It is true that due to this measure we had to reduce office hours, “said Kolář.
According to the mayor, the town hall has increased hygienic measures in the form of disinfection and special mats. According to Hannich, employees receive respirators, disinfectants and other hygienic aids from the town hall. They are then ordered to use mouth protection when staying at the town hall, and make appointments online.

The Lidovky.cz server previously obtained photographs showing the inscription “4. floor closed ”from the Prague City Hall building. According to available information, this is where the mayor, deputy mayors and all councilors are to live. Spokesman Hannich confirmed this on Sunday. Hannich did not talk about which people were specifically infected. Mayor Ondřej Kolář (TOP 09) is not affected by the infection.
“None of this is extra excited, but everyone understands that we have to adapt to this situation,” Hannich, who has recently worked from home and did not attend the town hall, told Lidovky.cz earlier. “It can never be prevented that someone gets infected outside the town hall,” the spokesman said.
As for the official activity towards the citizens, we divided the individual departments into two halves, so that the employees take turns who will work directly in the office and who will work in the home office mode, “said a spokesman for Lidovky.cz. He also added that all employees have the opportunity to be tested by antigenic tests. “The employees concerned have mobile phones and computers at their disposal, so it is definitely not possible to say that the operation of the town hall is not limited to the public or in the political section,” Hannich said.
