A new high-speed railway terminal is to be built near Nehvizd
21 materials from Czech and foreign architectural offices came together in the competition. The winner was the proposal of MP + ov Nehvizdy 2020. “I am very glad that the winning proposal corresponded to our idea,” the mayor of Nehvizd Jiří Poběrežský (NK) responded to the results of the competition.
The planned terminal will serve mainly the inhabitants of the north-eastern part of the Central Bohemian Region and the adjacent areas of the capital
The architects and other experts worked on designs for the location and appearance of the new building, including parking space for 3,000 cars and connections to regional bus transport and the nearby D11 motorway.
According to foreign experience, the terminal can be expected to give impetus to the development of space in the neighborhood. Therefore, the competition also had a part that was dedicated to the wider environment. Its further development will be fully in the hands of local governments.
The terminal will be part of the expressway between Prague and Brno, the first part of which should start construction in 2025.

“The planned terminal will serve mainly the inhabitants of the north-eastern part of the Central Bohemian Region and the adjacent areas of the capital. The purpose of this peripheral station is primarily to enable people living in the area to take advantage of high-speed rail transport without having to drive to the city center, ”says SŽ in a press release.
The terminal will be part of the high-speed line Prague – Brno, or its first section leading from Běchovice to Poříčany. The railway will enable fast connections to the center of Prague and convenient connections with Brno, Ostrava, Dresden, Vienna and other cities. Thanks to its location, according to SŽ, it will offer trouble-free parking.
At the beginning of January, Sudop, which will prepare it with its partners, announced the launch of survey probes and hydrogeological measurements in connection with the preparation of documentation for land management. The work will last until June.
Part of the track will be four-track. “Exactly I participate in global partners with a lot of practical experience, but it will not be an easy job at all,” said Sudop boss Tomáš Slavíček. We consider the passage through the Klánický Forest, a European locality, to be one of the pitfalls. According to him, the passage between the D11 motorway and the village of Jirny, where the space is very narrow, will also be difficult.
The designers will also have to deal with the modification of the Běchovice railway station. “I know from experience that there are many difficult moments during the preparation. But it is always a challenge that we are looking forward to, “he assured, adding that Sudop has been facing Czech Railways for more than 66 years.
