POLL: Who is the most popular mayor in Prague? Černochová won the survey
“I am glad that it is still true that actions are more than words, and I am really pleased that even in these difficult times, people perceive it. I really appreciate their support and it is a huge commitment for me in the future, “she commented on the victory in the Černochová popularity poll.
The survey was conducted in mid-December last year on about 860 respondents over the age of 18. The company Phoenix research, which deals with (not only) political polls online, asked people about the popularity of the mayors of Prague 1 to 15. The list therefore includes the mayor of Repory, Pavel Novotný (ODS), whose name appears frequently in the media.
Poll about the most popular mayor
1. Jana Černochová (ODS, Prague 2) – 15%
2. Ondrej Kolar (TOP 09, Prague 6) – 14%
3.– 4. Jan Čižinský (Prague 7 to himself, Prague 7) – 13%
3rd – 4th Ondřej Gros (ODS, Prague 8) – 13%
5. Irena Michalcová (YES 2011, Prague 4) – 12%
6. Petr Hejma (STAN – Prague 1) – 11%
7. – 8. Jiří Dohnal (Pirates, Prague 11) – 10%
7. – 8. David Vodrážka (ODS, Prague 13) – 10%
9. Jan Jarolim (ODS, Prague 9) – 9%
10. Jiří Ptáček (TOP 09, Prague 3) – 8%
11. Renáta Zajíčková (ODS, Prague 5) – 7%
12. Jan Adamec (Pirates, Prague 12) – 6%
13. Renata Chmelová (Vlasta, Prague 10) – 4%
14. Radek Vondra (TOP 09, Prague 14) – 2%
15. Milan Wenzl (for YES, Prague 15) – 2%
“In the overall view of the popularity of mayors, it is clear that the most well-known in the media – deputies – are often placed in the leading positions also among the inhabitants of the metropolis. It should be noted that the last measuring points do not necessarily mean so much dissatisfaction as the ignorance of the given representatives of the city districts, “the Our Region website quoted the director of the Phoenix research agency Peter Svoboda.
This is also why Kolář is probably in second place, who, like Novotný, became “famous” for his fight against Russia, when he initiated the removal of the monument to Soviet Marshal IS Konev from Interbrigády Square in Dejvice.
A surprise may be the divided third position of Grose and Čižinský. The mayor of Prague 7 won over 80,000 preferential votes in the 2018 elections, and his group could easily rule alone. However, Prague 7 once again invited the Pirates and the Greens to join the coalition.
The Civic Democrat, on the other hand, acted as the leader of the opposition in Prague 8 in the last election period. After difficult negotiations, “Grosova” ODS now rules in the minority coalition together with the TOP 09 and STAN and Patriots for Prague 8 grouping.
“The popularity of mayors is significantly dominated by right-wing representatives, which will also be reflected in the results of de facto all elections in Prague,” he said of the results of the Svoboda poll. That is also why the 5th place with the gain of 12 percent of Irena Michalcová, the mayor of Prague 4, who represents the government movement YES, can be considered a great success.
Do you like any of those fifteen communal politicians? Or would you vote for another mayor? Prague has a total of 57 city districts, of which 22 have delegated powers following the example of districts. Other authorities have less power in the exercise of self-government.
