Vyšehrad and Smíchov are connected via the Vltava by a new ferry, which costs twenty crowns
The municipality bets on the frequency of the new ferry, it has to run from the mooring Smíchov and Podskalí every quarter of an hour. It will be open every day from 10 am to 10 pm, on Saturdays the services depart at half past seven in the morning.
“We want to make the floodplain the center of life of the inhabitants of Prague. The floodplains in these places will be busy during the summer and I believe that people who spend the summer in Prague will enjoy it, “says Jan Chabr, a Prague councilor for property.
The price of the boat ticket is the same for all age categories, people also pay twenty crowns for a bicycle or an animal on board. The ticket is valid for one way across the river. The transport is provided by a ship named Šemík, which they built directly for this purpose. The 11-meter vessel can accommodate up to 40 people.
The connection of the banks of the Rašín and Hořejší nábřeží was one of the goals that Petr Hozman took on as the curator of the embankment this year.

“I am very glad that we managed to do that with the management of Trade Center Prague, Jan Chabr and the Prague ferryman. Visitors to the embankments will be able to connect not only by walking along the reconstructed railway bridge, but also by this ferry, ”says Hozman.
He added that the new ferry also simplifies access to the dungeons opened in the autumn on the embankments of both embankments.
The Vyšehrad ferry functioned between the two banks, for example in the autumn of 2018, as an off-season replacement for the P5 ferry.
