Like in Las Vegas. The new building on Wenceslas Square played in all colors
Even under the original name Květinový dům, the project, which was just being prepared, evoked passion not only among old lovers and more conservative inhabitants of the metropolis, but also the architects and conservationists who decided on demolition argued about it.
Another house on the corner of Wenceslas Square and Opletalova Street had to give way to new construction. The new, completed three-story building, which is to be occupied by the Irish low-cost fashion chain Primark, played in all colors. The disco effects of many passers-by were terrifying.

“It is terrible. That’s not possible, as someone could have allowed, “the two girls shook their heads in disbelief as they passed the neons whipping the façade. However, such a spectacle should not be repeated immediately on Wenceslas Square, even though it could not be rejected in the future.
Agreed, signed. Primark will open a store in the very heart of Prague
“The house had to set standard evening lighting. The owner has now agreed with the Prague conservationists that only one shade of white will shine on the facade, “assures Alexandra Drozdová, the media representative of the owner, which is Flow East.
If the building were to shine more color in the future, it would be subject to new approval by conservationists.
Iconic object, says the owner
The founder and head of the company that owns The Flow Building, as well as the neighboring Yalta Palace, James Woolf has been trying for several years to convince officials and Praguers alike to bring world architecture to the center of the Czech capital.
“The goal was to create an iconic, state-of-the-art building on one of the world’s oldest squares, which would set new standards of sustainability for future development in Prague,” she said.
Wenceslas Square under siege by cranes. The center changes into a construction site
In an interview with TV Architect at the time of construction, Woolf claimed that the building should become “an iconic object on the map of Prague’s architecture, which will determine the character of Wenceslas Square for the next centuries.”
The building was designed by Chapman Taylor Studio. “Most of the exterior elements will be white, as is the light Spiš travertine used on the facade. It is applied to the neighboring Yalta Hotel, so The Flow Building will seamlessly visually connect to the existing development, ”described Woolf.
Fewer cars and more promenades and a fountain. The transformation of Wenceslas Square begins
