The places where we have problems with coronavirus are Karviná and Prague, said Minister Vojtěch iROZHLAS
The Czech Republic is coping with the coronavirus pandemic very well, the epidemiological situation is not showing negative trends. According to the Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (for YES), the share of the cured is also growing. But as he said at a regular press conference on Friday, local outbreaks are a problem. The worst situation is in the Karviná region – Darkov Mine – and in Prague. He also talked about the fact that, according to Vojtěch, it will be necessary to increase the vaccination of the population against the flu in the future.

“We are 14 days after the massive easing of measures on May 11th. The epidemiological situation does not show negative trends. The release did not have a negative effect on the curve. Furthermore, the Czech Republic managed the situation very well, above average, “Vojtěch told a press conference on Friday. It is also declining those who are positive.
According to the head of the Ministry of Health, the Czechia is doing well in comparison with other countries. “Our share of the cured is growing, we are over 66 percent cured of the covid-19. Our death toll is stagnating. The number of hospitalized patients is also decreasing, at midnight it is 150 patients who are hospitalized, “Vojtěch calculated.
According to the Minister of Health, local outbreaks are local outbreaks. According to him, the situation in the Cheb and Domažlice regions has calmed down. “We have the biggest problems in the Karviná region within OKD and the Darkov Mine. The situation is not easy. It is localized, “said Vojtěch. He added that this is certainly not a society-wide problem.
“The infection in the Darkov Mine occurred in all operations, not only among the miners, but also in those above-ground operations in OKD. The Regional Hygiene Station therefore asked for help from the Czech Army medic, “said the Chief Hygienist of the Czech Republic, Jarmila Rážová. Army teams will test about 1,200 people over the weekend. There used to be two army teams in the county, now their number will increase by another four.
According to Vojtěch, there are several smaller outbreaks in Prague and community transmission is taking place. One of them was a distribution warehouse. According to him, the citizens of Prague must be careful. “At the moment, these are the only two locations where we see a problem,” he added.
The article continues under online reporting.
According to Vojtěch, none of the infected people from the Darkov Mine are hospitalized. Risk groups were not affected. The Minister also announced that the Czechia had started cooperation with the famous American clinic Mayo. It deals with the use of plasma from donors previously tested positive for coronavirus.
Now, according to Vojtěch, it is important to start preparing in the autumn. “The flu epidemic is very likely to happen. We see this as a risk if a coronavirus epidemic and an influenza epidemic suddenly occur, “he said. “We need to increase vaccination against influenza, which is below the average of European Union countries,” he added. “It will be crucial for us in the autumn. “Coronavirus and flu-like symptoms will make it harder for patients to identify,” he said.
At the end of May, the Institute of Health Information and Statistics (ÚZIS) estimates 9,430 confirmed cases of covid-19, which could add about 70 per day. By midnight on Thursday, 8,721 are infected.
Risk score system
According to IHIS director Ladislav Dušek, seniors over the age of 65 are among the infected fifths, 11 percent are over the age of 75. According to him, a total of 940 new patients came in May, and people over the age of 65 made up 14 percent. 124 people were hospitalized in May, with 30 serious cases.
The ministry wants to focus on covidem-19 in high-risk professions. In addition to paramedics, there are also, for example, gastronomy workers who have experienced more illness.
Even according to Dušek, the epidemiological situation is very positive. “There is no general threat now. Area predictions cease to make sense because nothing dramatic is happening, “said Ladislav Dušek, director of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics.
The model nevertheless introduced. Cumulatively, there could be 9,430 confirmed cases in the Czech Republic as of May 31, 2020, ranging from 9,960 to 9,770 infected.
“We are working on a risk score system. Think of it as a ten-point large. A lot of parameters are monitored, “Dušek described. Not only the quantitative increase in the number of newly diagnosed but also the nature of the growth is monitored. According to him, there is a difference between ten patients in one home for the elderly, or between many patients in different parts of the country.
