Prague 11 boasts a quarter of a billion investments. Parking is also solved. Will zones be created?
City councilors evaluated the work in the management of Prague 11 during a meeting with journalists at the Chodov Fortress. “Our first task was to stabilize the operation of the city district, including staffing, where we had a long-term deficit. Thanks to this, we were able to embark on a number of investment projects in a relatively short time: reconstruction of school buildings, sports and playgrounds, infrastructure repairs, revitalization of courtyards and other public spaces. At the same time, we managed to obtain subsidy funds from the capital for most of these events, “said Mayor Jiří Dohnal (Pirates).
According to the town hall press release, a total of 111.7 million crowns went to repair and increase the capacity of schools in Prague 11, over 53 million then required the foundations for repairs and expansion of the housing stock. “Personally, I consider the start of the reconstruction of the former Sandra hostel to be the greatest success, where 174 South City families will soon find new housing. I am also very pleased with the start of the extension of the Old Bohemian School, which was promised by several previous town hall management, but none of them completed it. Thanks to the extension at the school, twelve necessary facilities for pedagogy, new classes and, in addition, a gym will finally be created, “said Ondřej Prokop (YES), deputy mayor of the city for property and investment.
The South City should also attract young and rich people, says the new mayor Jiří Dohnal
According to Blesk.cz, the reconstruction of a high-rise building near the Opatov metro station is to “swallow” 300 million crowns (however, it will provide two thirds of the total amount as a subsidy from the municipality). According to last year’s statement in Prague 11, Sandra should provide a home for young families, seniors or people in necessary professions – teachers, doctors, firefighters or city police officers.
Cooperation on the development of cooperative housing
“By changing the structure of the building’s inhabitants, there will be a significant increase in safety in the place and the surrounding area. The city district wants to prevent possible ghettoisation of the locality precisely the maximum variability in the composition of residents and in the length of contractual relations, “said spokeswoman Anna Kočicová last June. Now the councilor for education Zuzana Ujhelyiová (Pirates) added that part of the flats could be used by the town hall for the benefit of university students or those who leave children’s homes. Prague 11 is also cooperating with the capital on a project for the development of cooperative housing, and is now selecting land.
Environmental Protection
In a press release, Prague 11 stated another town hall success (perhaps under the impression of the approaching spring) poetically: “The original concrete slabs are gradually disappearing from public spaces and replaced by perennial beds, meadow flowers or soft lawns.” also. (according to spokeswoman Anna Kočicová, in accordance with the council’s program statement) for investments in greenery In recent months, almost 200 trees have been planted in the South City and almost ten new flower meadows have been created. According to the deputy mayor of the city district for the environment, Jakub Lepš (TOP 09), the ecological activity was reflected, for example, in the change in the regime of grasslands. Prague 11 also tries to work gently with water and make the most of rainwater.
At the same time, the management of Jižní Město promises that the neglected surroundings of the Opatov, Rozytyly and Háje metro stations will be transformed after years. According to Deputy Mayor Martin Sedeke (ODS), territorial studies of these localities are paving the way for this. “We discussed all three studies with the citizens and the result is the registration of the Opatov – Na Jelena study, which was fundamentally adapted to the comments and wishes of the local population. I believe that we will be just as successful in the case of the other two studies, and the acquirer accepts our reservations. As for the walking zone near the Háje metro station, we also managed to prepare the merger of ownership of the Opatovská 874 building and thus prepare the space for revitalizing the eastern exit of the metro station, which South Citizens fly by, ”added the councilor, who is responsible for territorial development.
Additional money the city district will divide (or has already divided) into education, culture and sports, such as the construction of the Ice Sports Complex is a bit more complicated. A new outdoor swimming pool in Jižní Město is also planned in Jižní Město. According to Mayor Dohnal, the project could be completed by 2022. The new building of the City Hall of Prague 11 is one of the long-term visions.
Biotope or classic? South City can look forward to an outdoor swimming pool
But in a shorter time it should come up to a number of solutions to problems in the field of transport, for which Martin Duška (Pirates) is recommended. According to earlier studies, Prague 11 has a deficit of over three thousand parking spaces. How to improve the situation? Build parking garages? Or draw blue stripes on the streets of “Užák”? However, many residents do not like paid parking zones in the central parts of the metropolis, because they always provide residents with a parking space in front of the house, which complicates the attendance of relatives or, for example, makes the services of craftsmen more expensive.
Traffic studies suggest
“Whether we relax to them (parking zones), we will determine a new current traffic study, which will reveal how many residents and non-residents where he parks,” Blesk.cz quoted Councilor Dušek, adding that the town hall intends to repair underpasses and footbridges within two years. and create barrier-free crossings for pedestrians in the territory of Prague 11.
Free hours for visits. City Halls want a change in parking zones
Another planned activity of the South Town Hall is also related to parking. Former mayor Petr Jirava (YES), who addresses social affairs, health and safety in a new part of the city district, mentioned that Prague 11 will support the campaign of Prague and Central Bohemian firefighters called Three Meters to Life. It allows car drivers to park (especially in housing estates) thoughtfully and large passages of fire trucks.
“The campaign will take place in an informative way. However, I do not rule out in the future that we would, to a certain extent, also achieve partial parking on the sidewalk as part of certain measures, “said Jirava.
