Police accused 22 people of taxes, including CKD Prague ex-officer DIZ Speychal, for taxes
Police are prosecuting 22 people for cutting taxes and money, laundering the proceeds of crime and participating in an organized criminal group. Press Release Petra Ullrichová from the High Public Prosecutor’s Office in Prague. She did not disclose the names of the accused.
“Fictitious invoices were entered in the accounts of the tax entity, a Czech business company, which they subsequently applied in value added tax returns and corporate income tax returns. These negotiations were to reduce value added tax by CZK 441,298,622 and income tax by CZK 408,130,658. Funds in the order of hundreds of millions of CZK obtained through tax crime were subsequently marked by these persons in cash or transferred to foreign bank accounts, “said the public prosecutor.
According to information from MF DNES, for example, manager Karel Kloboučník or former CEO Jan Musil ended up in handcuffs. The head of the Prague High Public Prosecutor’s Office, Lenka Bradáčová, added to ČTK that out of 22 accused people, 21 were detained by the police. The detectives brought them to the service station in Na Perštýně Street in the center of Prague in the morning.
Petr Speychal
Billionaire Petr Speychal he previously owned, among other things, hockey Sparta. Speychal police detained them in September 2014, when they began to unravel the case. He was released without charge at the time.
Due to suspicions of tax fraud, the police have been investigating the company since May 2016. According to information at the time, ČKD Praha DIZ owed 791 million crowns in taxes.
ČKD Praha DIZ has been in bankruptcy since September 2016, last June ended up in bankruptcy. Robert Wolf, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors, became the owner of the company at that time (more in the article The head of the company took over ČKD Praha DIZ).
In previous years, the company had been in dispute with the Prague City Hall over work in the Blanka tunnel. The arbitral tribunal ruled in August 2016 that Prague does not have to pay the company about 1.7 billion for the extension of the tunnel construction. ČKD Praha DIZ was the supplier of the technological part.
