Janousek asks to waive the rest of the sentence
Janoušek’s lawyer submitted the request on November 20. Janoušek also submitted a request to the Regional Court in Brno again to suspend the execution of the sentence, which the previous court rejected. The judge will then submit the case to the Municipal Court in Prague, because he has already ruled once and cannot decide twice in one case.
Janoušek also sent a request to the Brno court to postpone the execution of the sentence until a decision was made on his case, and this request will also go to the Municipal Court in Prague for a decision. Janousek was in prison for about a year and a half, and then he had a suspended sentence for a year and a quarter. Last week, the Regional Court in Brno rejected his request for a further suspension of his sentence. However, Sigmund said that the court considered that the prognosis of his health condition did not anticipate an improvement so that the convict could at the time when he could be able to serve the rest of the imprisonment. Janoušek did not file a complaint against this.
In March 2012, Janoušek crashed into a Vietnamese woman’s car drunk and drove away from the accident. The driver caught up with him when she stopped at the red light. She got out and stood in front of Janoušek’s car and wanted to solve the situation with him.
The lobbyist first ran against her twice, but then stepped on the green light, beat the woman and ran away. Janousek originally faced charges of attempted murder. In the end, however, he received 4.5 years in prison for injury and driving under the influence of an addictive substance.
Janoušek was in prison from 18 November 2014 to 9 March 2016. At first, his sentence was suspended by the prison management, then by the regional court. Janousek has long complained about health complications after head surgery.
