From Ukraine to Prague. Leo Express will start operating the new line
Leo Express wants to improve the transport connection between western Ukraine and Prague, so it will start operating a combined train and bus line from Mukachevo via Košice to Prague.
“This area is historically close to the Czech Republic. The Subcarpathian Russia region is interesting both in terms of tourist potential and in terms of regular transport for job opportunities, “said Peter Koehler, Leo Express’s head of Central and Eastern Europe.
From Mukachevo, passengers will be taken by a bus with a stop in Uzhhorod to Košice, from where a connecting train to Prague will depart. In total, the journey will take over 14 hours. The line will start operating on October 16, the ticket costs from 21 euros (570 crowns).
According to internet search engines, the bus line between Prague and Mukachevo is now operated by, for example, the domestic RegaBus, Tov Lubert Janoshbus and PP Ščoka.
Leo Express has started to use the principle of combined transport connections in November last year. Leo Express trains, which end in Bohumín, are directly connected to buses to Kraków, Poland. However, the company leased from a Polish partner.
Leo Express joined the Czech Railways in November 2012, when it began to compete with Czech Railways and the private carrier RegioJet on the line between Prague and Ostrava.
